Welcome to Temicha!
Temicha is a support group for Orthodox Jewish parents of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals.
Although Orthodox young adults who are coming to terms with their
sexual/gender identity have support resources available for them,
parents often have nowhere to turn, and
have to deal with feelings of confusion, worry, sadness, disappointment
and uncertainty in isolation. We are hoping that this website and its accompanying email list will
alleviate some of those issues by providing
parents
with a resource and an anonymous forum through which they can engage in
dialogue with one another about some of the challenges involved in
having a child who is gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender and provide
one another with support and guidance through this difficult process.
This email list is
intended as a safe space for parents to engage in dialogue related to these issues in a supportive, non-judgmental, and
confidential environment. The list is co-moderated by Rabbi Yehuda
Sarna, Naomi Mark, L.C.S.W., Dr. Erez Harari and Dr. Michelle Friedman.
